RESERVED - Fancy a Cuppa?  Ceramic Tea Pot and Milk Jug

►Hand sculpted from stoneware ceramic this delightful teapot is hand painted and finished with glazes, oxides and acrylics.

MY PROCESS

I hand sculpt all of my pieces from ceramic stoneware clay. Either via coiling or slab building techniques.
Each piece is then dried until leather hard and the clay can be worked on and details added. Further controlled drying takes place to ensure a piece doesn't crack and all the moisture has evaporated.
A first 6 hour kiln firing takes place up to 1000 degrees C then cooled down so decoration such as oxides, underglazes and glazes can be added. A second firing over 8 hours is then done up to 1220 degrees C and finally once cooled I finish many of my pieces by hand painting a cold finish such as acrylics and lustre.
